RAYMOND J. GOMEZ, PE

▸ PRINCIPAL/PRESIDENT

Ray Gomez of Phillips + Gomez

Ray has been with our firm since 1994 and has nearly 30 years of mechanical engineering experience including five years in the design/build industry. As President of the firm, Ray is personally involved in the mechanical engineering design and project management for the firm which includes HVAC, plumbing, building automation/energy management/temperature control, and fire protection systems design for various commercial, educational, industrial and institutional projects. His background includes the design and study of various facility types including educational facilities, laboratories, museums, hotels, corporate offices, data centers, central plants, factories, medical, and historical buildings. Ray is a graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering. He is registered as a Professional Engineer in State of Oklahoma and several other states.

 

DOUGLAS K. PHILLIPS, PE

▸ FOUNDER

Doug Phillips of Phillips + Gomez

Doug founded our firm in 1982, with the objective of providing high quality engineering services. Prior to Phillips+Gomez, he served as Chief Electrical Engineer for a large Design/Construction firm where he was responsible for all electrical engineering including construction proposals, design, specifications, drawing preparation and plant start-up. Doug has established a reputation as a leader in the area of Data Center and Critical Facility design, as well as a widespread reputation in the field of lighting design where he has received two Awards of Merit from the Illuminating Engineering Society. Doug is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He is registered as a Professional Engineer in State of Oklahoma and several other states.

 

GREGORY B. SUTCLIFFE, PE

▸ PRINCIPAL/SECRETARY

Greg Sutcliffe of Phillips + Gomez

Mr. Sutcliffe joined the firm in 1994. He is responsible for project management, mechanical engineering and construction document preparation for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial office buildings, data centers, schools, museums, churches, libraries, natatoriums, and commercial tenant build-out projects across the country. Greg’s experience includes the design of Philbrook Downtown Museum; Arts & Humanities Council of Tulsa Hardesty Arts Center (AHHA); Henry Zarrow Center for Art and Education; Williams Companies Headquarters Building (various projects); University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Building 4 West Data Center Remodel; Tulsa Zoo Lost Kingdom Exhibit; Tulsa Zoo Special Events Pavilion; Boeing Executive Briefing Center. Greg earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering in 1988 from Kansas State University and is registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Oklahoma.

 

KORY M. ZEHR, PE, CBCP, LEED® AP

▸ PRINCIPAL/DIRECTOR

Kory Zehr of Phillips + Gomez

Kory has been with our firm for 12 years and has over 16 years of mechanical engineering experience in the design of HVAC and plumbing systems for healthcare facilities, museums, commercial office buildings, retail shell buildings and tenant spaces, university building renovations, and research laboratories. Kory has been involved in the design of more than 400,000 square feet of new and renovated healthcare, clinic, and hospital facilities in the state of Oklahoma. He is responsible for directing, coordinating, and managing project personnel and the planning, organization, and completion of our engineering projects. He obtained his LEED® certification in 2006 and became a Certified Building Commissioning Professional in 2012. Kory is a graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering. He holds professional engineering licenses in multiple states.

 

BRIAN D. HUNLEY, PE

▸ PRINCIPAL/ELECTRICAL

Brian Hunley of Phillips + Gomez

Brian Hunley has had over 15 years of electrical engineering experience in audio/visual design, theatrical lighting, professional sound reinforcement, structured wiring, arc flash hazard analysis, and aerospace electrical systems. He is responsible for creating, establishing and monitoring electrical designs, production tools, specifications, and documentation. His experience includes engineering management, estimating, electrical design, and project management. Brian has worked on numerous projects and has a unique balance of design and installation experience for various building and aerospace projects consisting of power distribution, audio/visual systems, interior and theatrical lighting and structured wiring. He works closely with the other disciplines, as well as contractors, in the coordination of the electrical systems to ensure quality performance and work. Brian is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and is registered as a Professional Engineer in the State of Oklahoma.
